About Me
I have been working in the social care sector since 2004 and hold a 1st Class (Hons) Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Counselling Supervision. I am a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) both in counselling and Supervision and work in complete accordance with their ethical guidelines www.iacp.ie
Accreditation ensures that practitioners are qualified and working to the recognised standard of skill and experience to that of the governing body. I am also associated with a number of Employee Assistance Providers as an affiliated therapist.
I work with adults on a one to one basis. I have extensive experience in the area of suicide and self-harm. I also have a huge amount of experience in the area of palliative care, bereavement and loss , I am in my final year in my Masters in loss and bereavement and have a keen interest in the area of childhood trauma and complicated grief.
I offer short term solution focused Counselling and long term Psychotherapy and Counselling Supervision. I use a variety of integrative approaches and will adapt which ever method is most appropriate to working with you.
I will listen to you and I will respect you. I will give you the space you need to explore your thoughts and move towards discovering a new you. And believe or not, we may even share some laughs along the way.
